FIRST PICK

AUGUST 9, 2022 by Rae Wilson

The first fruit of the year was taken from the Texas Hills Vineyard in Johnson City, Blanco County. Planted in 1996, this is one of the oldest vineyards in the Texas Hill Country AVA.

With low yields from a drought year, we harvested this fruit early to keep it from being taken by birds and other thirsty neighbors.  One ton of a field blend of white grapes were picked and pressed to ferment in neutral French barrels.
