We’re excited to have gotten fruit from Fire Oak Vineyard again this year!

The vineyard is situated on a gradual slope just north of San Saba Peak in Mills County, with an elevation of 1700 ft and a mix of gravel, caliche, and clay-loam soils. Consistent winds and wide diurnal range, this site is excellent for ripening Rhone varieties.

High temperatures and drought gave us an early ripening year. On August 11 we hand-picked 2.5 tons of Mourvèdre with great color and healthy clusters. We’re looking forward to watching this develop in the cellar!
